DISNEY VACATION
For Mikey's graduation present we joined him and the kids in Florida for a Disney vacation/beach
vacation. Grandpa Cadena paid for their tickets and we paid for the hotel, we all split the food,
and had a wonderful time. We stayed at Fort Wilderness which was the same type of setup in
Paris, where we had vacationed with Danny, Anna and DJ. So we were pretty much used to the cabin
setup. We were picked up and upgraded to a LIMO from the airport, stopped at Albertsons, where I had preordered groceries for the week. (underestimated on the wine and beer, when we do this
again with the rest of the kiddos, we will get more wine and beer! hahhah) The cabin slept 6, Kurt and I had the foldout in the living room, which was quite roomy and pretty comfortable. Mikey, Rhobin and kids had the bedroom. We had all the comforts and an outside grill which we utilized one evening for hamburger cookout. I love Disney, it is a magical place where you can pretend you are a kid again. We had a wonderful time, the kids were great, good traveling companions.
We spent first day at MAgic Kingdom, the 2nd day at MGM, and the 3rd day at Animal Kingdom,
4th day we split up. Kurt and I went to Epcot, and the kids returned to Magic Kingdom.
Surprisingly we did everything we wanted to every day.
I did take Kurt on the Space Ship Mission, and he got a little sick on me, It was a bit
realistic and I warn anybody who has high blood pressure, or any vertigo type illness.
DO NOT DO IT> It is amazing how realistic it was, G forces and all...
I would do it again, but would not let Kurt do it again, it took him 2 hours to recuperate.
SOARING was fun, that was a bit exciting and not quite so hard on the body!!!
Those two were at Epcot, so the kids did not try those.
When the time was up to go, we had a few problems exiting, as Disney planned an ironman/triathlon which kind of disrupted travel that day. We finally got out of there and it took as a while to find the freeway... but we made it to Hollywood Beach by 5 that afternoon. Rhonda and Nate were waiting for us at the bar. The kids dropped us off and they went to stay with Rhobins grandparents.
Hollywood beach is our favorite beach.. it is calm, and down to earth. We love it there
and found a wonderful motel called the Riptide. only 15 rooms, and right on the beach,
with its own Tiki Bar... with plenty of beer and wine, and at a cheap price.
Here are some pictures of some of our adventures.
